01 / THE DETAILS

The interesting difference is agitation

HOBOT's S7 Pro uses two reciprocating cleaning cloths, with the manufacturer publishing a 600-cycle-per-minute motion and a four-millimetre stroke. That is a more specific mechanical proposition than simply moving a damp pad around a window. Repeated agitation could help loosen material while the robot traverses the pane. It does not establish a measured improvement on every deposit or surface, and we have not tested it. The S7 Pro also combines ultrasonic spray, automatic route planning, a remote and app control. Its best fit is a buyer with substantial accessible glass who is willing to supervise placement and maintenance and who wants to investigate whether active wiping reduces the manual finishing left by simpler robots.

02 / THE DETAILS

Reciprocation creates useful questions

The two pads' movement should be evaluated for the dirt it removes, the streaks it leaves and how quickly it loads the cloth. A faster wiping mechanism can still smear material if the cloth is already dirty or the fluid is unsuitable. Compare dusty exterior glass, fingerprints and a dried deposit under the same sensible preparation routine. Look at the result after it dries and from an angle that reveals residue. The manufacturer's additional static-related claim should not be treated as proof that windows remain clean for a particular period. That would require a separate exposure test. For an owner, the immediate practical question is whether the active pads reduce touch-up time enough to justify the extra mechanism and consumables.

03 / THE DETAILS

Square geometry and border cleaning

The S7 Pro's body and cleaning layout are aimed at broad coverage, while its edge-sensing system is intended to handle boundaries. Detecting an edge and wiping right up to it are different functions. Inspect the strip beside the frame and the small corner regions that the pads may not fully reach. A window robot can remove most of the work while leaving a manageable border, but the importance of that border changes with pane size. Large picture windows are a different assignment from many small squares. Measure the minimum permitted pane dimensions and any handle clearances before purchase. Do not assume a device demonstrated on a frameless panel will work equally well on every framed, recessed or divided window.

04 / THE DETAILS

Glass compatibility is not a blanket permission

HOBOT discusses operation on different glass thicknesses and some other surfaces. The safe and useful interpretation is to consult the exact manual for the intended material and condition, not to extrapolate from marketing language to every textured panel, film or coating. Adhesion depends on maintaining an appropriate seal and movement depends on suitable friction. A rough or damaged surface can change both. If your windows have specialist coatings, obtain compatibility guidance before applying fluid or mechanical wiping. The robot should also be used only where it can be safely attached and retrieved. It is not a workaround for an inaccessible exterior pane that requires leaning out of a building or improvising an anchor.

05 / THE DETAILS

Mains power and backup have separate roles

The S7 Pro operates through a power cord, with a backup system intended to hold the robot temporarily after a power interruption. HOBOT specifies a twenty-minute reserve on the product page. That is a recovery provision, not ordinary cordless cleaning endurance. Charge and check the backup system as instructed before use. Route the power lead and safety rope so that they do not catch on handles or create trip hazards, and use the manufacturer-approved attachment arrangement. Remain nearby to respond to alarms. We have not independently tested adhesion after power loss and do not treat multiple safety features as a guarantee against a fall. Correct operating conditions and a clear area below the robot remain necessary.

06 / THE DETAILS

Controls should make touch-ups easier

The supplied remote can be attractive for an owner who does not want every cleaning adjustment tied to a phone. The app adds control and update-related functions, with HOBOT describing directional handling intended to be more intuitive from either side of the glass. The relevant test is whether you can confidently move the robot to a missed patch and back to the retrieval point without confusion. Check current phone compatibility and what remains possible without the app. Voice prompts can make status easier to understand, but a suction fan and wiping mechanism are still audible appliances. We have not measured room noise. Plan a supervised session rather than expecting the robot to disappear into the background while the house carries on unchanged.

07 / THE DETAILS

Replaceable spray hardware is worth checking

HOBOT describes replaceable water tanks and nozzles, a practical point because spray performance can deteriorate if the delivery system becomes obstructed. Before purchase, confirm availability and cost for those parts, pads and other wear components in your region. Follow the specified fluid and cleaning procedure rather than improvising a mixture that might leave residue or affect materials. Wash and dry the cloths after use and keep their fastening surfaces free of debris. Inspect the drive surfaces and pad seating before each session. A robot that slips or streaks may need basic maintenance rather than a software reset. The ownership advantage depends on those tasks being manageable and the parts remaining obtainable after the initial enthusiasm fades.

The comparison with other window robots

Against HOBOT R3, the S7 Pro offers a different pad motion and body geometry; against a WINBOT with a portable station, it trades that station's power-and-storage concept for a conventional corded arrangement. Neither comparison can be decided by a single suction number. The right choice depends on pane dimensions, outlet access, edge-finishing expectations and the owner's tolerance for setup. If most windows are small, a compact robot may save more work than a larger active-wiping model. If the glass is large and frequently marked, the reciprocating mechanism is worth testing. Count the number of cloth changes and manual touch-ups in a complete room, because those determine whether the mechanical sophistication produces a practical advantage.

09 / THE DETAILS

Our research conclusion

The S7 Pro deserves attention for its specific active-wiping mechanism and provision for replacing spray components. It remains a supervised window appliance with access, tethering and maintenance requirements. We have not verified stain removal, streaking, edge coverage or durability. A worthwhile trial would use several representative panes, compare fresh and partly loaded pads, inspect dry glass in angled light and time the complete cleanup. It should also confirm that controls and retrieval are comfortable from the actual operating position. The documented design makes a credible case for reducing repetitive wiping on large compatible windows. Whether it replaces most of your hand work depends on the finish it leaves, not on the speed of its pads alone.
